Our Philosophy

Your mouth doesn’t end at your teeth.

From his earliest years in practice, Dr. Jignesh Mehta, BDS kept returning to a question conventional dentistry rarely asks: what is this treatment doing to the rest of my patient’s body? Thirty years later, that question still shapes every material choice, every protocol, every case.

Oral health is systemic health

Your mouth carries a direct blood, nerve, and lymphatic connection to the rest of your body. Inflammation from gum disease, toxicity from heavy-metal fillings, and chronic infection in root-canalled teeth don’t stay contained to your jaw — they circulate. Holistic dentistry treats that connection as clinically relevant, not incidental.

Biocompatible, not just functional

A restoration can be structurally perfect and still be the wrong choice for your body. We select materials — zirconia, ceramic, BPA-free composites — for biocompatibility first, referring for serum biocompatibility testing when a patient has a known sensitivity history.

Safety, Step by Step

The SMART protocol for mercury amalgam removal

SMART — Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique — is a defined, IAOMT-developed protocol for removing mercury fillings without exposing you, our team, or the environment to unnecessary mercury vapor. Here is exactly what happens, in order.

Step 01

Rubber Dam Isolation

A dental dam isolates the tooth completely, preventing mercury particles or vapor from reaching your mouth or airway.

Step 02

External Air Supply

You breathe clean air through a separate nasal mask throughout the procedure — never the air in the room.

Step 03

High-Volume Suction

Multiple high-volume evacuators capture mercury vapor and particulate at the source, continuously, during removal.

Step 04

Copious Water Irrigation

The amalgam is sectioned and removed under constant water spray to minimise heat and vapor release.

Step 05

Immediate Isolation & Disposal

Removed amalgam is contained and disposed of per hazardous-waste protocol — it never touches your skin or the open room.

Step 06

Post-Removal Detox Support

Nutritional and detox guidance afterward, supporting your body as it clears any residual exposure.

For the Skeptical & the Curious

Honest answers, not sales pitches

Is holistic dentistry “alternative” medicine?

No — every material and technique we use is grounded in dental science. “Holistic” here means we evaluate treatment through the lens of your whole body, not that we substitute unproven remedies for proven ones. Biocompatibility testing, SMART protocol, and zirconia implantology are documented clinical practices.

Do I need to remove my existing amalgam fillings?

Not necessarily. If your fillings are intact, asymptomatic, and you have no material sensitivity, immediate removal isn't automatically indicated. We assess each case individually rather than pushing removal as a default.

What makes a material “biocompatible”?

A material your body doesn't mount an inflammatory or immune response to. We default to zirconia, ceramic, and BPA-free composites — and can refer for biocompatibility (serum) testing when a patient has known sensitivities.

Why does this matter for a root-canalled tooth?

A dead tooth has no blood supply, which limits your immune system's access to bacteria that can persist in dentinal tubules. We use ozone therapy and biological support protocols where a root-canalled tooth needs revitalising rather than defaulting straight to extraction.
